During the first days of the war (likely on 24 February 2022), a Russian Air Force Kamov Ka-52 s/n RF-90680, code 17 blue, operated by the 18th Army Aviation Brigade, performed a forced landing (presumably due to damaged received from Ukrainian fire) near Hostomel Airport, Ukraine. No later than on 31 March 2022, it was destroyed by the Russians to avoid capture. Limited edition piece due to the very rare nature of this part.
This was an exterior piece of the aircraft skin. It is thin gage metal, but the edges have been rounded to reduce cut hazard. It appears to be from the nose or sensor pod portion of the aircraft.
